Services begin today for three people killed in a May 9 traffic accident in Livingston County.

Candice Dunn, 35, a top state parole/probation officer, her mother, Linda Hurley, 69, and Hurley’s boyfriend, Jerome Tortomasi, 73, were three of five passengers killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of M-59 and Argentine Road.

Visitation is today, 3-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 1-9 p.m. at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Road in Shelby Township. Viewing will also be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 47120 Romeo Plank Road at 21 Mile Road. Interment for Dunn and Hurley will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.

Dunn, Hurley and Tortomasi were traveling together after attending a state Department of Corrections award banquet in Lansing, where Dunn was honored as Parole/Probation Agent of the Year. Two passengers in the second vehicle were also killed. Both drivers, Dunn’s boyfriend, Albert Boswell, and Jordan Carrier, as well as a passenger in Carrier’s car, Kyle Lixie, are hospitalized in stable condition.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, though toxicology reports haven’t yet been completed. Neither driver has a valid driver’s license.
